It’s that time of the year that kids are writing their Santa letters, giving you their wish lists, and so we’re sharing our Christmas Gift Guide with you to help you get started!
Is "GIFTS" your child’s main love language? Recently we did the five-love-languages quiz with our whole family and it was fascinating to hear the results.
Knowing your child's love language (and your own and your partners, too!) can be useful in improving your relationship with your kids, their relationships with others, and in what ways they best show their love and need to receive love. This quiz is fun to do, read out the questions and enjoy hearing their answers. If you want to do this with your kids, then click this link and choose CHILDREN.
Just in case you're wondering, what are the five love languages ... At the core of the love languages concept is the knowledge that everyone gives and receives love differently. In learning more about those ways, we can better communicate love to each other. Most people have a primary love language and then a secondary love language or several secondary love languages. These five “languages,” are:
- Words of affirmation
- Quality time
- Gifts
- Acts of service
- Physical touch
So with that being said, below are some of the guides and ideas for giving gifts, toys and love this Christmas.
STEM Toys
These are toys that are geared towards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics' learning and activities. They are great for children because they encourage them to think outside the box.
... AND there's no better way to learn STEM than during the early stages of your kids' life (childhood) where instead of solving hard mathematical equations (who wants to do that in their down time / on the weekend??!!), they can learn them through STEM toys.
STEM toys include (source: STEM GEEK):
- Electronics
- Building
- Robotics
- Coding
- Biology
- Astronomy
- Lab sets

Sports and Outdoor Toys
There are a lot of benefits outdoor toys and games can give to a child. Some of these are:
- Help improve motor skills
- Help lower body mass index
- Help improve the overall health of your kids; and
- Help improve peer-to-peer relationships
Aside from the ones mentioned above, sports and outdoor toys are not just fun to do but they can also help build your child's stamina, motor skills, improve their sensory skills and help them be physically active.
Encourage your kids to play sports and outdoor games by gifting them toys. Check some of our collection of outdoor toys here!
Art & Crafts
If you're looking for toys and/or activities to give to your child this Christmas holiday that can help them develop their hand / eye coordination, arts and crafts toys are the one to look up to. These toys can help them identify shapes, colours and textures.
Train your kids to be creative from an early age! Let them discover their creative side by gifting them these artsy crafty things here.
Indoor Games
The good thing about indoor games is that they can keep your children entertained without any electronic devices. Put the ipads and gaming consoles away for a bit, and get them playing Monopoly, Scrabble, UNO, Pictionary Air Game, Chess and so much more. They're fun and a great way for them to practice essential cognitive skills to enhance their complex thought and memory formation.
We've made a cool downloadable Christmas gift guide for you, which you can share with your kids and let them show you what they like. To get your own copy, click the link below and it will be yours!
